BEEKMAN – Victor Arnold Smith, 80, an area resident since 1964 and formerly of Belvidere, NJ, died peacefully on November 28, 2021 at his home.

Born in Phillipsburg, NJ on October 5, 1941, he was son of Wilson Nase and Ruth (Hartman) Smith. Vic graduated from Belvidere High School, Class of 1957 where he played basketball and football, and received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Indiana Tech, Fort Wayne, IN, Class of 1964. Vic was the first president of Indiana Eta of Sigma Phi Epsilon Chapter. He was employed as a Project Manager in the Systems Development Division at IBM in Poughkeepsie for 38 years until his retirement in 2002.

Victor was a member of the Belvidere Methodist Church. He coached Town of Beekman Little League. He was an avid golfer who also enjoyed bowling and woodworking.

On September 19, 1964 at the United Church of Christ in Bethlehem, PA, Vic married Sandra Jean Cressman who survives at home. He is also survived by his son, Jason Smith and his wife, Suzanne; his granddaughters, Lyla and Paisley; and his brother, Rodger Smith and his wife Marcia.
