Victor M. Turturro, 76, a resident of LaGrangeville since 1975, died on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Westchester Medical Center.
Born in Highland on July 3, 1938, he was the son of the late Victor Turturro and Ruth Patten VanVoorhis. Victor served our country in the US Air Force for more than 20 years. He and his family traveled all over the world with the Air Force living in Thailand, Hawaii, Bangkok, Japan, California, Texas, Nevada and Kansas. He also worked for OTB as a computer programmer for 15 years, and IBM, East Fishkill for 25 years as an electronics technician. Victor enjoyed playing poker and woodworking.
On July 12, 1958 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rome, NY, Victor married Alice "Ginger" Murphy who survives at home. He is also survived by his son, Michael Turturro; his daughter, Cynthia Turturro; his sister, Laverne Roy; his grandsons, Nicholas and Michael; and his great-grandson, Joseph. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Wendy Turturro.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 11am-12pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be at 12pm followed by interment in the LaGrangeville Cemetery.
