Victoria Mattison Pollien, 58, of the Town of LaGrange and formerly of Buffalo, died on Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Kaplan Family Hospice.
Born in Bethesda, MD on July 21, 1955, she was the daughter of Lt. Cdr. (RET) John Arthur and Juanita Smith Mattison. Victoria graduated from Amherst Central High School, and received her Bachelor's Degree in Math and her Master's Degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She was employed by IBM, Poughkeepsie until her retirement in 2008 as a Senior Planner.
Following her retirement, Victoria attended Ulster Community College and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Due to her love of animals, she volunteered with many local animal rescues. She also enjoyed traveling, living in both Taiwan and Germany.
Victoria is survived by her mother, Juanita Mattison of Niagara Falls; her sister, M. Nanette Jacobs of Lewison; her aunt, Clothilde Dooley; her cousins, Peter, Marion and Charlie Dooley, John, Christine and Matthew Dooley, Richard Mattison; and her beloved dog, Buddy. She was predeceased by her father, John; and her cousin, Mark Dooley.
