Wappingers Falls- Vincent R. Commisso, a resident of Wappingers Falls, NY previously from Preston Hollow, NY and White Plains, NY, passed away on August 12, 2023. He was 103 years old.
Vincent was born in White Plains, NY on December 29, 1919, the son of Angelina Maria & Rocco Vincent Commisso. With a grateful heart, Vincent proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Staff Sargent.
On May 19, 1978, Vincent married the love of his life Theresa in White Plains, NY. After her passing in 2021, Vincent was broken hearted after the loss of his sweetheart.
He loved his family and friends, and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was an avid New York Yankees fan, was famous for his homemade Pasta Fagioli and loved eating good Italian bread. He was a friend to many throughout his years and everyone who knew him loved him. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and horseman. One of his greatest joys was spending weekends at his Golden Horse Ranch & Coonskin Hunting Cub.
Vincent is survived by his daughters, Barbara Beddia and her husband Sonny and Annette Sciacchitano and her husband John; his son, Joseph Commisso; his grandchildren: Jerri-Lynn Galgano (Daniel), Allison Robinson (Steven), Michael Sciacchitano (Kayla), Andra Schwab (Steven), John Beddia (Jen); great-grandchildren: Daniel, Emma, Joseph, Olivia, Brooke, Riley, Rocco, Shane, Ethan, Zoey and Jaxson; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his sons Rocco Commisso, Patrick Capobianco, his sisters Mary Commisso, Angel Messina, Lucy Pitasi, Jay Mendillo, brothers Joseph Commisso, Frank Commisso, Fred DePaso, James DePaso, and Mathew DePaso .
Calling hours will be Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from 4pm-8pm at McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday August 16, 2023, at 10am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Roman Catholic Church 1985 Route 82, LaGrangeville, NY.
