Montalbano
December 27, 1941 – November 4, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vincent Leo Montalbano (Vinny) on November 4, 2024, at the age of 82. He died peacefully at home, surrounded by loving family.
Vinny was born on December 27, 1941 in Dobbs Ferry to Leo and Mary (Tomaselli) Montalbano.
He proudly served in the US Navy on the USS Gainard and retired from IBM Poughkeepsie in 2007 after 27 years of service.
Vinny was a devoted and faithful parishioner at St. Kateri Church and was a past Grand Knight of St. Mary's Council, Knights of Columbus.
His passions included reading, woodworking and being on the water.
Vinny was also a life member of the New Hamburg Yacht Club and had also volunteered for the Hopewell Depot Restoration Project.
More than anything, Vinny loved his family, friends and the home he built himself.
He also cherished his time with his grandsons who in turn adored him.
Vinny enjoyed cooking family meals and also looked forward to his weekly Tuesday Breakfast Club with his good friends.
On April 5, 2000, Vinny married Azalia (Rivera) Montalbano who survives at home.
Vinny is also survived by his children, Jennifer Montalbano of Saugerties, Vincent Montalbano and his wife Julie of Glenville , and Christa Amoruso of Newark NY; his grandchildren, Jake, Matthew, Ryan, Sidney, Noah and Jonah; his siblings, Nancy Hernandez, Joseph Montalbano and Leo Montalbano and his wife Kathy; and many nieces and nephews.
We were blessed to have him in our lives and will miss his sweet smile.
