Vincent Tarantino, 99, a lifelong resident of the Bronx, died on Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City surrounded by his family.
Born in the Bronx on September 4, 1912, he was the son of the late Ralph and Anna (Fusco) Tarantino. On October 30, 1938 at St. Philip Neri Church in the Bronx, he married Jennie Castaldo. Mrs. Tarantino predeceased him on January 18, 1990.
Vincent worked for Macy's in Manhattan for many years until his retirement. He was a parishioner at St. Philip Neri Church in the Bronx.
Vincent is survived by his daughter, Joyce Rufino of Fishkill; his grandchildren, Frank Rufino and his wife Patty of Hopewell Junction, Lori Rufino-Rutberg of Westboro, MA, and Jennifer Marcano and her husband Siano of Fishkill; and his great-grandchildren, Christina Noel Janos and her husband Michael, Krystal Samantha Rufino, Nicholas Jerry Rutberg, and Jenna Anne Rutberg.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 am at St. Philip Neri Church, 3025 Grand Concourse, Bronx followed by entombment at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.
