WAPPINGERS FALLS - Viola I. Lucato, 86, a lifelong area resident, died on June 19, 2025 at home surrounded by her family.

Born in Poughkeepsie on January 7, 1939, Viola was the daughter of the late William and Edna (Lewis) Iori. On July 7, 1963 at St. Mary, Our Lady of the Falls Church in Wappingers Falls, she married Louis A. Lucato, Sr. who predeceased her in 2012 after 49 years of marriage.

Viola was a devoted Catholic who was a parishioner at St. Mary, Our Lady of the Falls Church and a member of the St. Kateri/St. Denis/St. Columba Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed attending events at the Fishkill Senior Center, and loved her weekly outings with the "Lunch bunch". More than anything, she had an unwavering love and devotion to her family.

Viola is survived by her children, Louis Lucato, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC, Gary Lucato of Highland, and Kristine Thomas and her husband Jason of Pleasant Valley; her grandchildren, Nick, Marissa, Cassandra, Shelby, Julia, Anthony, Emily, Delaney, and Lola; her great-granddaughter, Sofia; her brother, William Iori and his wife Barbara; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 24th from 4 - 6 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial is being offered on Wednesday, June 25th at 10 am at St. Mary, Our Lady of the Falls Church 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery.
