Violeta D. Carteciano, a longtime resident of Queens and formerly of the Philippines, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ. She was 84.
Daughter of the late Celso and Gregoria (Dia) Carteciano, she was born in St. Rosa, Laguna, Philippines on May 17, 1935.
Violeta worked as a Medical Technician at Flushing Hospital in Queens. After 30 years of service, she retired in 2000. She enjoyed many hobbies especially travel, gardening, and music.
Survivors include her niece, Patricia G. Knips and her husband Thomas of Wappingers Falls, NY; her grand-nephew, Thomas A. Knips of Wappingers Falls, NY; her grand-niece, Christina M. Jelly & her husband Alexander of Randolph, NJ; and her great-grandniece, Sophie F. Jelly.
Violeta was preceded in death by her parents as well as her sister, Teresita Carteciano, who passed away on August 8, 2018.
