Virginia C. Balais, 81, died on February 22, 2025 at the Dumont Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in New Rochelle.

Born on April 3, 1943 in the Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Pedro Balais and Leonora Castillo. Virginia had been employed as a teacher in the Philippines.

Virginia was a devout Catholic and was very involved with the Claveria Church Group in Cagayan, Philippines. She enjoyed reading and writing.

Our beloved sister "Ninia" was soft spoken and a very loving Grandma. She is survived by her three sons, Arnel, Lawrence and Charles. She is also survived by her sisters, Felicidad Baltazar, Lelis Albano and Chita Planta. She was predeceased by her brothers, Peter Jr. and Alejandro; and her sister, Lourdes.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, July 24 at 9am at St. Clare's Monastery, 70 Nelson Avenue, Wappingers Falls.
