Virginia Dickerson, age 93, passed away on January 28, 2022 at the Pines at Poughkeepsie.

She was born in Hamden, CT on September 1, 1928 to the late Clarence and Eleanor (Curry) French. In July of 1947, Virginia married her husband Herbert, who predeceased her in May of 2013. Her brother Larry French also predeceased her.

During her working life, Virginia was employed as an executive secretary/bookkeeper at the Dutchess Manor Home for Adults in Poughkeepsie, and she then went on to work at Arnee Audio Designs, Inc. in Wappingers Falls, NY.

Virginia was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to her plants and flowers. She also loved playing bridge.

She is survived by her son James Dickerson (Madeline) of Hopewell Junction, NY, daughter Joyce Simpson (James) of Kissimmee, Fl; grandchildren: Adam Simpson (Becky), Jeremy Simpson (Molly), Carly Lindley (Adam), Ryan Dickerson (Catharine), Sean Dickerson and his partner Chris Philpot; great grandchildren: Connor, Cassidy, Thomas, Josephine, Boone and Cheyanne.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at the Landing of Poughkeepsie and the Pines at Poughkeepsie for their care and compassion during Virginia's final years.
