POUGHKEEPSIE – Wallace Lee Furness, 61, a lifelong area resident, died on October 16, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Wally was born in Mahopac on August 20, 1957. He had been a driver for Royal Carting in Hopewell Junction.

Wally is survived by his son, Brian Furness of Hopewell Junction; his mother, Dorothy (Daniels) Furness of GA; his stepson, James Tompkins and his wife Colleen of Hopewell Junction; his granddaughter, Kira Furness; his step grandchildren, Taylor, Kaitlin, Justin, Ryan, and Emma Tompkins; his brother, Timothy Furness of Georgia; and his nephews, Alex, Justin and James. Wally was predeceased by his father, Homer Furness.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 4-6 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by a memorial service at 6pm.
