Obituary

W. Arthur Roggow, 71, a resident of Wappingers Falls since 1980, died on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Jamaica Hospital, Queens.

Born in Albion, NY on May 17, 1943, Art was the eldest son of Mabel Graham Roggow of Warsaw and the late Ward Erwin Roggow. He was employed by the New York State Department of Corrections at Beacon Correctional Facility for 25 years until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of the Beacon Elks Lodge #1493 and enjoyed horticulture, bowling, and was a proud supporter of the local community and our military.

In addition to his mother, Art is survived by his children and their spouses, Carrie and William Herman of Rochester, Sherri and Chris Brosius of Gainesville, Wade and Sue Roggow of Warsaw; his adopted son, George Dionysius of Wappingers Falls; his sister, Roberta Webb and her husband John of Silver Springs; his brothers, Robert Roggow of Batavia and Herbert Roggow and his wife Donna of Warsaw; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Elks Service will be at 7:30pm followed by the funeral service at 8:00 pm.
