Warren J. Ahneman, 86, a Town of Poughkeepsie resident since 2008, formerly of Croton-onHudson and the Bronx, died at home on Tuesday, August 10, 2010. For over 30 years, Warren was employed by C.B.S. in Manhattan until 1986, when he retired as Director of Sales and Affiliate Relations. He was involved with such notable comedies as All in the Family and The Beverly Hillbillies. A member of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls, he had previously belonged to St. Augustine's Church in Ossining and St. Christopher's Church in Buchanan, where he served as Lector. Warren was a member of the American Legion and Town of Cortlandt Conservation Committee. He also enjoyed travel. Born in the Bronx on July 15, 1924, he was son of the late Charles and Geraldine Fitzgerald Ahneman. In 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II until being honorably discharged in 1946. He received his bachelors degree from Fordham University. On September 24, 1949, Warren married Beatriz Foglia in Manhattan. Mrs. Ahneman survives at home. Additional survivors include his daughter, Carol A. Toufali & her husband Mohamed of Wappinger; his son, Richard G. Ahneman of Ossining; his daughter, Christine L. Nichols & her husband Andrew Cross River; his son, Warren C. Ahneman of Poughkeepsie; his grandchildren, Amrir, Tracey, & Sara Toufali and Michael, Brian, & Stephanie Nichols; and his sister, Geraldine L. Ahneman, M.D. of Peekskill. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton St., Wappingers Falls. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne. The family members wish to express their heartfelt gratitude for the service and dedication provided by the nurses and staff of Hospice, and at their request, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Foundation, Inc., 374 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
