Wappingers Falls – W. Lee Edmonds, 83, died peacefully on October 30, 2021 in her home.
Born in Brooklyn on November 30, 1937, she was the daughter of William and Iris (Wright) Bramson and spent her childhood growing up in Tarrytown. On September 9, 1961, Lee married Travis Edmonds from Keene Valley and they settled in Hyde Park. Lee, trained in biology at Hartwick College, started her professional career at Geigy, and once she and Travis started a family, opted to stay home and raise her two children, Kevin and Sheryl. Once the children were older, she took a job at the Bookworm, where she could share her joy of reading with its customers. She remained at the Bookworm for 10 years until her retirement in 2015. For the past several years, prior to the onset of Covid-19, Lee was an active volunteer at Vassar Hospital and Boardman Road Branch Library.
Lee was an avid reader, accomplished gardener, and an incredible cook, who loved nothing more than sharing her passions with her family and the community.
Lee is survived by her husband Travis, children, Kevin Edmonds of Kittery, ME and Sheryl Edmonds of Kearny, NJ; her grandchildren, Travis Edmonds and Madison Edmonds; her sister-in-law, Joan Barnum and her husband Ray, and nieces Lori, Marcy, and their families.
At this time, there are plans for a private service. Memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Please visit Lee's Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
