Obituary

William "Bill" Alexis passed peacefully at home on February 16, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose strength, loyalty, and quiet kindness touched everyone who knew him. He is lovingly survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Linda Alexis, with whom he shared a life filled with love and partnership; his proud and devoted children, Danny Alexis and Andrea Malouf; his cherished grandchildren, Sonia Alexis and William Alexis, who lovingly called him "Pop"; his dear brother and sister, Richard and Anatilde Alexis and Linda Sayers; his loving nieces and nephews, Debbie and Jody Wilson, Zachary Wilson and Megan Pharis and Kathy and Mike McCullouch, and Joe Sayers; and his treasured fur babies, Abby and Henry.

Bill honorably served his community for 34 years as a Correctional Officer at Fishkill Correctional Facility. Throughout his long and dedicated career, he was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and unwavering commitment to fairness and respect. He carried himself with quiet strength and a deep sense of responsibility, earning the respect of those he worked with over the years.

Above all, Bill was a family man. He found his greatest happiness in the simple, meaningful moments - family gatherings, conversations around the kitchen table, watching the Yankees, and watching his grandchildren grow. He also truly enjoyed spending time with his in-laws, valuing the extended family bonds and the laughter and memories they shared together. Nothing brought him more pride than being "Pop." His steady presence, protective nature, and unconditional love created a foundation of security and warmth for his family.

Bill's legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the love he gave so freely, and the family who will carry his memory forward each day. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
