William G. Barnett, a long time resident of Croton-on-Hudson, peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, February 6, 2015 with his loving wife of 64 years by his side.
He was born in the Bronx on November 4, 1924 to Rosalie and Daniel Barnett. William was a Naval Veteran of WW II and a life member of Harmon Engine Co. #3, Croton Fire Department.
He was the devoted husband of Rosemary; loving father of Christine Schultz (David), Kathleen Barnett Ward (Jeff), William Barnett (Terry), and Robert Barnett (Tracey); loving grandfather of Emily, Elizabeth, Jesse, Dan, Kyle, Meagan, and Carly; and beloved brother of Virginia Barnett. William was predeceased by his brother, Daniel and his sister, Mary.
William will be remembered for his kind heart, his sense of humor, and gifted piano playing. He brought joy to everyone he met and will be deeply missed.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 6-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 am at St. Kateri Church, 1925 Route 82, Lagrangeville followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla with military honors.
