Obituary


William Edward De Bold, 85, a resident of Westchester County for over 40 years, formerly of Mahopac and the Bronx, died on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle.
For over 30 years, William worked as a conductor for Metro North Railroad.  He was a member of the New York City Steamfitters Union and additionally worked for the Westchester County Office for the Aging.  He was a communicant of St. Augustine Church in Larchmont.
Born in the Bronx on October 23, 1923, William was the son of the late Dewey and Grace Larkin De Bold.  In 1942, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served during World War II.  On November 14, 1973, he married Josephine Calabrese.  Mrs. De Bold survives at home in Larchmont.
Other survivors include his daughter, Carol Deavenport of Las Vegas, NV; son, William E. De Bold, Jr. & his wife Kellianne of Wappingers Falls; daughter, Suzanne Williamson & her husband Scott of Franklin, NC; son, Robert De Bold & his wife Susan of Tampa, FL; daughter, Diane De Bold of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Matilda Panzarella & her husband Anthony of Florida; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces & nephews.  William was predeceased by his former wife, Lillian Speckman De Bold, in 1994 and his brother, Charles De Bold.
A memorial service with military honors will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
