WAPPINGERS FALLS – William G. Carroll, 79, an area resident since 1974, died peacefully at home on February 18, 2024. He previously lived in the Bronx.

Born in Ireland on July 2, 1944, William was the son of the late Thomas and Anne (Lawrence) Carroll. He proudly served in the US Army. William retired in 2004 from Downstate Correctional Facility where he was employed as a Corrections Officer for over 27 years.

On September 16, 1967 at Our Lady of Refuge Church in the Bronx, William married Sharon (Gavin) Carroll who survives at home after 57 years of marriage. He is also survived by his sons, William Carroll and his wife Sylvia of Port Jervis, James Carroll and his girlfriend Gabriela Napolitano of Fishkill, and Shawn Carroll of Wappingers Falls; his grandchildren, Abigail, Olivia, Adelyn, Liam, Penelope, and John; his brother, Thomas Carroll and his wife Edith of Carrollton, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10 am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery with military honors.
