William Chinchilla, age 60, passed away at home on September 14, 2023, with his beloved family by his side. He was born in Bogotá, Colombia on August 29, 1963 to parents Pedro and Blanca Elena (Corredor) Chinchilla. On May 8, 1987 in Kew Gardens, Queens, NY, he married the love of his life Luz (Suarez) Chinchilla.

William was very proud of his Colombian roots. He was a wonderful person who kept a very close relationship with God and with the Virgin Mary. He was a good communicator who was very close with his mother Elena and with his wife Luz. He gave thoughtful advice to everybody and always wanted everyone to have a closer relationship with God. He could talk for hours and loved to connect with people. For many years he worked as a bus driver at Byram Hills, and he loved all the children on his bus route. In his spare time, William enjoyed fishing, traveling, listening to music and dancing, and he loved learning at every chance he got. He loved to make people laugh.

William is survived by his beloved wife Luz Chinchilla; his mother Elena Chinchilla; his brother Pedro Chinchilla; his sister Gloria (Chinchilla)Suarez and her husband Orlando Suarez; his aunt Lucila Suarez; his cousins and many nieces, nephews.

Calling hours will be held on both Thursday September 21, 2023 and Friday September 22, 2023 from 4-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc. 1089 Main Street Fishkill NY. A Mass of Christian will be held on Saturday September 23, 2023 at 10 am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church 106 Jackson St. Fishkill, followed by burial at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.


William Chinchilla, de 60 años, falleció en su casa el 14 de septiembre de 2023, acompañado de su querida familia. Nació en Bogotá, Colombia el 29 de agosto de 1963, de padres Pedro y Blanca Elena (Corredor) Chinchilla. El 8 de mayo de 1987 en Kew Gardens, Queens, NY, se casó con el amor de su vida Luz (Suárez) Chinchilla.

William estaba muy orgulloso de sus raíces colombianas. Era una persona maravillosa que mantenía una relación muy estrecha con Dios y con la Virgen María. Era un buen comunicador muy cercano a su madre Elena y a su esposa Luz. Dio buenos consejos a todos y siempre quiso que todos tuvieran una relación más cercana con Dios. Podía hablar durante horas y le encantaba conectarse con la gente. Durante muchos años trabajó como conductor de autobús en Byram Hills y amaba a todos los niños en su ruta de autobús. En su tiempo libre, William disfrutaba pescar, viajar, escuchar música y bailar, y le encantaba aprender en cada oportunidad que tenía. Le encantaba hacer reír a la gente.

A William le sobreviven su amada esposa Luz Chinchilla; su madre Elena Chinchilla; su hermano Pedro Chinchilla; su hermana Gloria (Chinchilla) Suárez y su esposo Orlando Suarez; su tía Lucila Suárez; sus primos y muchas sobrinas, sobrinos.

El horario de llamadas se llevará a cabo el jueves 21 de septiembre de 2023 y el viernes 22 de septiembre de 2023 de 4 a 8 p. m. en McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc. 1089 Main Street Fishkill NY. Se llevará a cabo una misa cristiana el sábado 23 de septiembre de 2023 a las 10 am en St. Mary, Mother of the Church 106 Jackson St. Fishkill, seguida de un entierro en el cementerio rural de Fishkill.
