West Yarmouth, Cape Cod, MA - William Coughlin passed away suddenly on March 29, 2023. A lifelong resident of Beacon and Fishkill, he recently relocated to West Yarmouth, Cape Cod, MA.
Billy was born on July 30, 1958 to Charles and Joan (Boland) Coughlin in Beacon, NY. He graduated from St. John's Elementary School, Our Lady of Lourdes High School and attended Dutchess Community College. During his school years, he excelled in skiing and football. He worked in Construction & Masonry specializing as a Sport Court Dealer and Game Court Builder. He enjoyed building Sport Courts, had a strong entrepreneurial spirit, was a gifted masonry craftsman and owned his own business for many years. Billy was an active member of the Chelsea Sportsman's Club, the Knights of Columbus and the Uncle Billy Club. He was a communicant of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, NY.
On July 4, 1981, Billy married the love of his life, Elise Ann Kirchner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Beacon, NY. Elise survives him at home. He loved telling a good joke, relaxing on Cape Cod, listening to music by Todd Rundgren & Tony DePaolo, spending time in the Adirondacks and a good BBQ. More than anything he loved spending time with his family, especially chatting and playing with his grandkids.
In addition to his wife, Billy is survived by his children, Brendan Coughlin and wife Shaina of Agoura Hills, CA, Kaitlin Cammarata and husband Joseph of Melrose, MA, Lauren Coughlin of Somerville, MA and Colin Coughlin and girlfriend Gracie Clapp of Los Angeles, CA; his father, Charles and his wife Kathleen of Chelsea, NY; his grandchildren, Sawyer & Parker Coughlin of Calabasas, CA and Vincent, William & Charles Cammarata of Melrose, MA; his siblings, Linda McNiff and husband John of Beacon, NY, Barbara Papula and husband James of Chelsea, NY, Mary Paggi and her husband Lawrence of Wappingers Falls, NY and Michael Coughlin of Phoenix, AZ; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Billy was predeceased by his mother, Joan Coughlin in 1995.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 4pm - 8pm, at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc. 1089 Main St. Fishkill, NY 12524. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 10am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY.
Memorial donations may be made in Billy's name to Memorial Sloan Kettering or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
