HOPEWELL JUNCTION – William E. Dean, 80, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 35 years and formerly of Fishkill and the Bronx, died on Friday, February 10, 2012, at the Pines of Poughkeepsie.
Born in Manchester, England on December 28, 1931, he was the son of William and Ann Jenkinson Dean. William proudly served our country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a Manager for Technicon in Blauvelt for 35 years until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Hopewell Reformed Church, past president of Beekman Library Board, and a member of the Fishkill Lions Club. He was also an avid golfer and NY Giants fan.
On November 6, 1953, in Switzerland, William married Margarete Kramer who survives at home. He is also survived by his children: Linda Dean, of Pleasant Valley; William Dean and his wife Ruth, of Wappingers Falls; and Leslie Carlson and her husband Craig of Rochester. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gabriela Rojas, Chloe Carlson, and Mia Carlson.
