William John Fish, a Beacon resident since 1985, formerly of Poughkeepsie and Croton-on-Hudson, died on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the V.A. Medical Center in Montrose. He was 72.
Son of the late Constant M. and Eleanor (Tuttle) Fish, he was born in Huntington, Long Island on October 11, 1942. In 1967, he was inducted into the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1968.
William worked as a machinist for Metro-North Railroad at the Croton-on-Hudson station, where he dedicated more than 20 years before retiring. He was also an avid fisherman.
On December 24, 1987 in Beacon, he married Nannette "Nancy" Hoeler, who survives at home.
He is also survived by his children, Vicci, Chrissy, Willie, Danielle, Niki, Billie Jean, Scott, Andrea, and Erica; as well as a "village" of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, William was also predeceased by his brother, Sonny Fish, in 1995.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 20th at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home immediately following calling hours.
