Obituary

WAPPINGERS FALLS – William P. Holze, 84, died on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at home. He formerly lived in Fishkill and Yonkers.

Born in Yonkers on September 6, 1932, he was the son of the late William and Margaret (Brogan) Holze. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a parishioner at St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill.

On November 7, 1953 at Christ the King Church in Yonkers, William married Ruth Brown Holze who predeceased him on March 12, 2016. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Linda and William Maher of Yonkers, Diane and Steven Yurcho of Yonkers, Sharon and Robert Polidore of Wappingers Falls, and William and Jennifer Holze, Jr. of Katonah; his 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Betty Durland of Syracuse, Peggy Ghem and her husband Robert of CT, and Ann Detlefsen and her husband Robert of Putnam County; and his sister-in-law, Carol Holze of NJ. He was also predeceased by his brother, Paul Holze.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 9:30 am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by burial at Mount Hope Cemetery with military honors.
