EAST FISHKILL – William Wallace Lee, Jr., 69, a lifelong area resident, died on October 25, 2022 at the Fishkill Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.
Billy was born on January 8, 1953 in Poughkeepsie, the son of William & Bertha (Bruise) Lee. He graduated from John Jay High School in 1972 & SUNY Cobleskill in 1974 with his degree in Animal Husbandry-Beef.
He was employed by the USPS-Wappingers Falls, NY as a letter carrier for 42 years. He enjoyed delivering mail to his customers. One of the favorite sayings from his customers was 'we always know when Bill is off because we never get the correct mail delivered'.
He was a life member of East Hook Sportsmen's Club. Some of his most memorable hunting trips were in Wyoming, Anticosti Island, Quebec, Canada, Maine and NY State. He was proud that his wife was one of his hunting partners. We enjoyed our country music concerts and traveling to Crazy Horse Memorial.
On October 1, 1983 at Freedom Plains Presbyterian Church, Billy married Elaine Michaelis who survives at home. In addition to his wife & father, he is also survived by his siblings & their spouses, Wanda Devine, Wendy (Steve) Henstebeck, Dianna Genova, and Everett (Carol) Lee; his godchildren, Darin Rivenburg, Amanda Lee, Victoria Rose and Carla Manzione; his sister-in-law, Karen Fiegl; his devoted cats, Tippy, Emery and Stash; as well as 29 nieces & nephews, and 25 great-nieces & great-nephews, and many cousins and friends.
