William L. O'Donnell, 75, a resident of Holmes, NY and Sanibel Island, FL, died on December 13, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He had previously resided in Cortlandt Manor.
Born in New York City on September 26, 1941, he was the son of Lester and Dorothy Schulze O'Donnell. Bill proudly served our country in the US Army, 2nd Armored Division, 41st Infantry during the Vietnam War. He was a Detective 2nd Grade with the NYPD for 33 years until his retirement in 1995. Bill served on the Town of Beekman Conservation Advisory Council. He enjoyed fine carpentry, fishing, bee keeping, sailing and camping.
On November 4, 1967 in Yonkers, Bill married Gayle Landry who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters, Meredith Gazzetta, Laura Uva and Carol Martin; and his grandchildren, Taylor and Derek Gazzetta, Rocco and Dylan Uva, and Max Martin.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a funeral service at 8pm.
