Obituary

East Fishkill – William Raymond O'Neil, 82, an area resident since 1977 and formerly of Staten Island and Brooklyn, died peacefully at his home on November 9, 2023.

Born in Brooklyn on August 19, 1941, he was the son of Raymond and Mildred (O'Brien) O'Neil. William had been employed as a stereotyper for the New York Times and the New York Post. He was a proud member of the Stereotypers Union #2.

William was a parishioner of St. Columba Church. He was a life member of the Whortlekill Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed fishing and boating.

On June 12, 1965 at St. Anselm Church in Brooklyn, William married Norma Zennia Hansen who survives at home. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Carolyn and Michael Miller, Raymond O'Neil, and Donna and Henrik Ibsen; his grandchildren, Mikayla, Colin, Emma and Emil; and his great-grandson, Theodore. He was predeceased by his sister, Jean Brennan.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 18, from 10-11am at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Dutchess County SPCA.
