William Kenneth "Bill" Robinson, 73, of Hyde Park, New York, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. Born in New Rochelle, New York, he was the son of the late Warren Kenneth Robinson, and Theresa Elizabeth Robinson.
Bill was raised in the Yorktown School District and worked for many years and maintenance with the Yorktown Central School District, retiring in 2009. In addition, Bill worked part-time for ShopRite in Fishkill and in Hyde Park. He was known for his dedication, strong work ethic and willingness to help others.
A proud veteran, Bill honorably served in both the United States Marine Corps and Army National Guard for more than 33 years. His distinguished military career included service in Germany and support of Operation Joint Endeavor, responding at Ground Zero following the September 11th attacks, and deployment during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was deeply proud of his military service and lifelong commitment to his country.
Bill was honored with the Guy A. Watkins Volunteer of the Year Award in 2016 for his exemplary service to Vidant Medical Center. He was also a member of Disabled American Veterans chapter 144, Duchess County veterans, and Knights of Columbus #3428.
Bill was the beloved husband of Carol Robinson, with whom he shared 37 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife, his children, Jillian Scheer (Marcus), Alysa Taffe (Andrew), Amy Hennessy (Brian), Jennifer Clark, and Kristy Notarangelo (Lev); and his cherished grandchildren Aiden, Maximilian, Jacob, Addison, Niamh, Ethan, Maura, Everett, and Valerie. Nothing brought him greater joy than talking about his children and grandchildren and celebrating their accomplishments.
He is also survived by his sister Barbara Fisher, and brother-in-law George Fisher; nephews Brian and Keith Fisher; and his goddaughter Stephanie Lozito Cutting. He was predeceased by his nephew Frank Fisher.
Bill loved physical fitness, boxing, history, reading, national monuments, meeting famous actors, Cape Cod vacations, volunteering, and animals. He was known for his gift of storytelling and his ability to make people laugh. He had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcome, valued, and cared for.
One cause especially close to Bill's heart was Saint Judes Children's Research Hospital. Rather than receiving gifts for holidays or special occasions, he preferred that donations be made to help children in need.
Family and friends are invited to attend a wake in honor of Bill's life on Sunday June 7, 2026 from 3-7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday June 8, 2026 at 10:30 am at St. Columba Church 835 Route 82 Hopewell Junction, NY.
Anyone who can't make it to Mass, is welcome to watch live by using this link: https://vimeo.com/event/5981018
A private family burial with military honors will take place at Saratoga National Cemetery.

Bill will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, proud veteran, dedicated volunteer and kind soul. His legacy of service, compassion, humor, and love will live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
