EAST FISHKILL - William Scampoli, 81, an area resident since 1984 and formerly of the Bronx, died peacefully on June 19, 2025 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He left to reunite with his wife in Heaven.

Born in Mount Vernon on July 31, 1942, he was the son of the late Anthony and Lucy (Cornacchia) Scampoli. Bill served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a maintainer for Metro North Railroad.

Bill was a parishioner of St. Columba Church, and a member of St. Mary's Council #4065, Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Marine Corps League #242 in Carmel.

Bill was a handyman who loved to tinker and was known as the man who could fix anything. He enjoyed electrical work and yardwork, and liked working with stained glass art. More than anything, he loved his children and grandchildren. His grandchildren were truly his life!

On October 14, 1972 in the Bronx, Bill married the love of his life, Barbara Elizabeth Willson, who predeceased him on October 12, 2023. He is survived by his children and their spouses, William and Meghan Scampoli, Gina and Carter Boalt, Maria and Greg Duffy, and John Smith who he loved as his own child; his grandchildren, Brittany, Carter Jr., William, Lowell, Mason, Benjamin, Mae, Rose, Samuel, Hope, Madalyn, Emily, Shannon and John; his siblings, Richard Scampoli and Lucy Nalbone; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and all of his Godchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also predeceased by his brothers, Joseph, Leonard and Anthony Scampoli.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
