William V. Vaccaro, a Fishkill resident since 2008 and formerly of Cortlandt Manor, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Thursday, February 16, 2017. He was 86.
Son of the late William and Anna (Venuti) Vaccaro, he was born in New York City on December 17, 1930. In 1948, Bill was inducted into the U.S. Army and proudly served his county until his honorable discharge from service in 1951.
He worked for many years as a truck operator, and following his retirement, opened Hunter Tile Corp. in Mohegan Lake.
On April 28, 1956, he married Theresa M. Tannariello at St. Anthony's Church in the Bronx. Theresa survives at home in Fishkill.
Bill is also survived his daughter, Valerie Ciaccio & her husband Edward; his son, Daniel Vaccaro & his wife Frances; his son, Raymond Vaccaro & his wife Kelli; his son, William D. Vaccaro & his wife Dawn; and his grandchildren, Jake, Daniel, William, Joseph, and Jacquelyn.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, February 20th at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21st at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill.
