POUGHKEEPSIE - Yongkyun Lee, a 10 year resident of Dutchess County and formerly of Paramus, NJ and Korea, died on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 77.
Son of the late Younglae Lee and Aji Park, he was born in Seoul, South Korea on November 28, 1938.
For many years, he owned and operated Won Hwa Dang, an herbal medicine business based out of Seoul. He was a member of the Korean New Covenant Church in Hopewell Junction and partook in many hobbies such as driving and travel. He was also a cuisine connoisseur and always enjoyed discovering new restaurants and trying different types of food.
In 1962, he married Bokyeo Jin in Korea. Mrs. Lee survives at home.
Yongkyun is also survived by his children, Injae Lee (Jay Cho), Yoo-Mi Lee, Brian Lee (Grace), and Amanda Lee (Benjamin Chun); his grandchildren, Andrew, Rebecca, Timothy, Sarah, and Amy; as well as many other loving relatives & friends.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, August 21 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A funeral service will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 22 at the Korean New Covenant Church, 7 Donovan Drive, Hopewell Junction.
