Zarak "Zak" R. Brown, 57, a resident of Beacon for 20 years and formerly of Yonkers, died at home on April 9, 2015.

Born in New York City on April 19, 1957, he was the son of Russell and Shaharazon Summrel Brown. On November 6, 2004, Zak married Jennifer Marta at Bear Mountain Inn at the Overlook Lodge.

Zak worked as a salesman for Combined Insurance in Fishkill. He was a member of the Fishkill Church of the Nazarene. He was employed by Unlimited Care where he looked after Matthew for 10 years. Most of all, Zak loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his children.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his mother, Shaharazon "Dutchess" Summrel of Poughkeepsie; his children, Anthony Taylor of Rockymount, NC, Danielle Brown of Newburgh, Kelly Brown of Simpsonville, SC, Zander Brown, Jianna Brown and Zaiden Brown of Beacon; his grandchildren, Ayana Witcher, Brandon Collins, Kedan Brown, Ayden Richardson; his sister, India Levy; his beloved friend, Matthew and many dear cousins, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 12 – 2 at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will follow at 2pm.
