Marcia Joyce McEntee (Friedman)
Marcia Joyce McEntee, 80, of Poughquag, NY, died from complications of COPD on May 29, 2016.
Born on March 4, 1936, in Paterson, NJ, she was the beloved wife of Harry “Bud” McEntee of Poughquag, NY. They shared a wonderful life together for the past 57 years. Sadly, their two sons predeceased her passing, Marc Lewis McEntee (May 20, 2016) and Scott Alan McEntee (March 30, 2015). It gives her family and friends peace and comfort knowing they are eternally together.
She was an adored mother-in-law to Marc’s wife, Dorothy McEntee, and cherished grandmother to their children, Shaun Harrison McEntee and Melissa Grace McEntee. She was a devoted grandmother to Scott’s son, Jeffrey Alan McEntee, and great-grandmother to Jeffrey’s son, Carl Scott McEntee. She was a loving daughter to the late Joseph and Fannie (Zuckerman) Friedman, admired sister to Stephen Friedman of Florida, and treasured sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend to all that loved her. Over the years she truly enjoyed watching the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren and extended family. Marcia will be greatly missed.
Marcia was the granddaughter of Jewish immigrants, the Friedman family, who were leaders in the textile industry in Paterson, NJ. Throughout her life she continued to challenge herself, advancing her education and working in many diverse and interesting industries. She was also a talented watercolorist and creative artist. She shared her interest in decoupage, teaching art classes in Dutchess County and her work was profiled in the Poughkeepsie Journal.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 2-3 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A celebration of Marcia’s life will commence at 3 pm and will include spiritual thoughts and an opportunity for family and friends to share their memories.
