Obituary for Eileen J. Ranger (Dittbrenner)

Eileen J.  Ranger (Dittbrenner)
WAPPINGERS FALLS - Eileen J. Ranger, 80, a lifelong area resident, died on January 10, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Newburgh on October 26, 1936, she was the daughter of Paul Dittbrenner and Daisy Corwin Dittbrenner. Eileen graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in 1954, and was employed as a telephone operator with New York Telephone for 20 years. She was a member of the Fishkill United Methodist Church and the Embroiderers’ Guild of America, Skyllkill Chapter.
On October 4, 1970 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Newburgh, Eileen married John W. Ranger of Winnipeg, Canada who survives at home. She is also survived by her son, William Ranger of Wappingers Falls; her brother, Paul Dittbrenner and his wife Nancy of St. Petersburg, FL; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Pauline Gardner Abbott.
Her interests included baking, sewing and travelling throughout the southwest United States, Canada, Bermuda, the Bahamas and Italy.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10 am at the funeral home with Rev. Linda Willey officiating. Entombment will follow in the Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
