Douglas A. McHoul

Licensed Funeral Director

Douglas A. McHoul is a second-generation funeral director from Boston, MA. He graduated from the New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences, worked with his father and brothers for many years at their funeral home in Boston, and has been a New York State Licensed Funeral Director for almost 60 years. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps from 1963 until his honorable discharge in 1969. Since moving to Dutchess County in 1966, Doug has participated in many community activities and has held leadership positions in such organizations as Hopewell Hose Company of the East Fishkill Fire District, East Fishkill & Dutchess County Historical Societies, East Fishkill Rotary Club (Charter Member and Paul Harris Fellow), Knights of Columbus, Kevin Barry Irish Club, Whortlekill Rod & Gun Club, East Fishkill Republican Club (Past President), United States Navy League, American Legion, Sylvan Grange, and Dutchess County Pomona Grange. He has served on the boards of the United Way of Dutchess County, Dutchess County Agricultural Society, Association of Senior Citizens, Dutchess Community College, East Fishkill Community Library, Dutchess County Community Action Agency, and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. He is a member of St. Columba Church, where he spearheaded the church building campaign. He has also served his community as an elected official, having been a Dutchess County Legislator from 1971 to 1991 and serving as Chairman of the Legislature for four years. In 1992, he was appointed Director of Dutchess County Office for the Aging, followed by a 1998 appointment as Commissioner of Dutchess County Personnel until 2002, when he retired. He also owns and operates Casa La Lanchita, a guesthouse on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico.

Marikay Thomes McHoul

Licensed Funeral Director

Marikay Thomes McHoul is also a second-generation funeral director. A native of Stamford, CT, she moved to Pawling, graduated from New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences and worked with her father and brother at their family-owned business, Horn & Thomes Funeral Home, Inc. Nearly 60 years ago, Doug and Marikay moved to Hopewell Junction and established the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. Marikay is very active in the community, participating in such organizations as the East Fishkill and Dutchess County Historical Societies, Kevin Barry Irish Club, East Fishkill Republican Club, East Fishkill Republican Committee, United States Navy League, Sylvan Grange, and the Dutchess County Pomona Grange. She is a member of St. Columba Church, and past president of the St. Denis-St. Columba Altar Rosary Society. Marikay is a motivated member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She has held many local, state and national leadership positions – Past Regent of the Melzingah Chapter, Honorary State Regent of New York, and National Corresponding Secretary General, to name just a few. Marikay also owns and operates Casa La Lanchita, a guesthouse on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico.


Doug and Marikay have four daughters, a son, 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and their 18-year-old faithful Sato, Pincho.

Lori McHoul Cassidy

Co-Owner / Licensed Funeral Director

Lori McHoul Cassidy is a third-generation funeral director. She graduated from New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences, and received her New York State Funeral Director’s license in 1987. Lori continues the family commitment to the community by maintaining an active membership in such organizations as St. Columba Church, St. Denis – St. Columba - St. Kateri Altar Rosary Society (Past President), and East Fishkill Historical Society. She is currently serving as a Trustee for the East Fishkill Community Library. She is an active member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, where she has served on the local, state and national levels. For many years, she was an active member of the East Fishkill Rotary Club (Past President and Paul Harris Fellow).  Lori had also volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician with the East Fishkill Rescue Squad.


Lori and her husband Peter are the parents of three daughters – Loretta, Carolyn and Allison, and have three grandsons, Joshua, Oliver, and Michael.  They have owned and operated Cassidy Memorials, Inc. for over 30 years

Douglas A. A. McHoul

Doug is a third-generation funeral director. He graduated from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in 2002 and earned his NYS License in 2004. An active member of the local community, he has served on the board of directors for many local non-profit and civic organizations such as the Mid-Hudson Children's Museum, Dutchess County Regional & Greater Southern Dutchess Chambers of Commerce, Exchange Club of Southern Dutchess, BSA Hudson Valley, American Cancer Society, and more. He's been the recipient of several awards including the Hudson Valley Top 40 Under 40, Community Advocate Award, and Next Generation Award.


Doug is a member of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, the Town of Fishkill Republican Committee, and Knights of Columbus.


He served as a Town Board Member in Fishkill from 2014 until 2019, when he was elected as a Dutchess County Legislator, representing District 17. He was re-elected to the County Legislature in 2021, 2023, and 2025.


Doug's wife Stephanie also owns & operates a local business, Hot Stuff Coffee Shop, in the Village of Fishkill, and they reside in Fishkill with their daughter, Madelyn and son, Nolan.

Mary Ann McHoul Menuau

Co-Owner / Licensed Funeral Director / Manager at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc

Mary Ann is also a third-generation funeral director. She graduated in 1996 from Bay Path College with a BA in Business Administration. Before joining the family business, she worked for 12 years at Cartus, an international relocation company based in Danbury, CT. In 2010, she graduated with an AS in Funeral Services from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service.


She is a parishioner at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. She is a member of the St. Denis-St. Columba–Blessed Kateri Altar Rosary Society, East Fishkill Republican Committee, and Melzingah Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. Mary Ann was active in the Children of the American Revolution, where she was a Senior State Officer and  held many senior state chairmanships, as well as the St. Denis-St. Columba PSA.  She and her family have participated in many local activities and fundraising events over the years. Mary Ann, her husband Karl, and their children Karl & Jadyn live in Hopewell Junction with their dogs, Thea and Kora.

Cheryl Brady

Licensed Funeral Director

Cheryl A. Brady earned her AS in Funeral Service in 1998 from American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in New York City.  For many years, she worked for Bradley Funeral Service in the Bronx and Westchester before joining our family business in the fall of 2018.


Cheryl was the Vice President, Past Treasurer, and Board Member of St. Joseph’s Fellowship in Poughkeepsie.  She is very involved with community events, and volunteers regularly with Dutchess County's Crisis Intervention Team Training (CIT). She is also a parishioner of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church in Lagrangeville, NY, and is a proud PTA dog mom at her dog Oscar's daycare.


Cheryl lives in East Fishkill with her beloved boxer, Oscar, who occasionally acts as the office dog.

Elizabeth Kline

Licensed Funeral Director

Liz Kline earned her Associate of Science degree in Funeral Service from Goodwin University in East Hartford, Connecticut. She joined McHoul Funeral Home in early 2019 as an intern, subsequently completed her residency, and obtained her funeral director’s license in 2020. Liz also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York.


In addition to her work in funeral service, Liz has been employed with the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities for the past 18 years, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to public service.


Liz is a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill and an active member of the Myers Corners Elementary School PTA, as well as the Junior League of Poughkeepsie.


She resides in Fishkill, New York, with her husband, Jeremy; their son, Peter; and their dog, Allie.


Alexandra Perri

Licensed Funeral Director

Alexandra Perri graduated from American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service and became a Licensed Funeral Director in 2011, working in funeral homes in Westchester County and Manhattan. She joined our family business at the start of 2022. Alexandra is a parishioner at St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, where she currently resides. 

Nathan R. Sabarese

Licensed Funeral Director

Nathan R. Sabarese earned his bachelor’s degree in 2022 from the Mortuary Science program at SUNY Canton in upstate New York. Nate worked at Macken Mortuary in Rockville Centre, Long Island, and a few other funeral homes before joining our family business in the winter of 2022.


Nathan is the recipient of the Humanitarian Award from SUNY Canton for his service with, “Operation Hands With a Heart”, during the Pandemic of 2020. The operations mission was helping funeral homes in NYC and Long Island get decedents to their place of rest after most Cemeteries and Crematories in the Metro area were backed up and couldn’t receive decedents for up to 4 to 5 weeks. Nathan was also featured in the American Funeral Director magazine, in their, “One to Watch” section. This section features young and up-and-coming funeral directors and apprentices from across the United States.

 

Nathan is a devoted husband and father to his wife and daughter.

Isabella H. Haydt

Funeral Directing Student

Isabella is currently a senior in the Funeral Service Administration program at SUNY Canton in Upstate NY. She joined the McHoul Funeral Home as a high school student during the fall of 2023. Bella looks forward to graduating from the program in the spring of 2027 and then will sit for the National Board Exam. At that time, she will then begin her funeral directing residency with us.


Bella has been a part of SUNY Canton's President’s List and Dean's List during each semeste of schooling. She has also been inducted into SUNY Canton's Chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success. Bella is also an active parishioner of St. Joachim/St. John's Church in Beacon, NY.


She resides in Beacon with her family, and beloved German Shepard, Bear.
