Obituary for Lauren P. Hondorp

Lauren P.  Hondorp
HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Lauren P. Hondorp, 62, a lifelong area resident, died on March 4, 2018 at home.

Born on February 7, 1956 in Newburgh, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marilyn (Reed) Quinn. On September 17, 1989, Lauren married Stephen J. Hondorp who predeceased her in 2008.

Lauren, a financial analyst, retired from IBM in East Fishkill in 2010 after almost 30 years of service. She enjoyed the outdoors, and liked gardening, going to the beach, hiking, and spending time on the Dutchess Rail Trail.

Lauren, a wonderful and caring mother, is survived by her son, Jordan Hondorp; her sister Julie Wojcik and her husband Mel Luette; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Marvelle Hondorp; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Catherine, Marlena, Jonathan, James, and Thomas Hondorp; her nieces and nephews, Lauren Monforto, Kate Fischer, and Abby, Caitlin, Matthew, and Gabrielle Hondorp; her 5 beloved cats; and many friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her son, Joseph Wray in 1992.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 12th from 10 - 11 am at the Hopewell Reformed Church, 143 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by a funeral service at 11 am at the church. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery.
