Obituary for Katherine Jean "Kit" Baran

FISHKILL – Katherine Jean “Kit” Baran, a Fishkill resident for more than 40 years, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Saturday, October 27, 2018 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 72.
Daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Rosin) Conway, Kit was born in the Bronx on April 21, 1946. She lived in the Bronx up until 1977, when she moved to Fishkill with her family. She was a homemaker who loved to be with her family and friends. She was an avid New York Mets fan and also enjoyed reading books.
On July 31, 1965, she married John D. Baran in the Bronx. John survives at home in Fishkill.
Kit is also survived by her daughter, Patricia Ryan & her husband Patrick of Poughkeepsie; her son, Daniel Baran & his wife Angela of Hopewell Junction; her daughter, Lisa Marie Baran & her husband Martin of Fishkill; her grandchildren, Amanda Baran, Sean Ryan, Connor Ryan, Daniel Baran & his wife Christine, and Anthony Baran; her brother, Peter Conway & his wife Sandra of Connecticut; her sister, Patricia Jackson of the Bronx; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.
She was predeceased by her parents as well as her sister, Mary Christine Conway.
Calling hours will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 3 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A memorial service will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
