Obituary

On Tuesday, October 8th, 2019, Tuan Minh Hoang, beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away at the age of 49.

Tuan was born in 1970, in Hue, Vietnam. He received his business degree from SUNY New Paltz and worked as a pharmacy technician at Rite Aid Pharmacy at Red Oak Mills. He was a follower of Buddhism, and enjoyed cooking and golfing. He is survived by his mother, Thuc Lan Thi Duong; his sisters, Thuy Lien Hoang of Vietnam and
Thuy Anh Hoang of Vietnam; his brothers, Duc Minh Hoang of Garden Grove, CA and Tri Minh Hoang of Poughkeepsie, NY; and by his nieces and nephews.

Tuan was a loving son, an affectionate brother, a caring uncle, and an infectiously-joyful friend. He loved to cook for his friends and family, especially his world-famous steam buns and ribs. His wide grin, loud laugh, and cheerful banter will be missed at every family gathering, backyard barbecue, Christmas morning, and golf outing. It will not be the same without him. Tuan brought joy to everyone's lives, and he will be in our hearts forever.

His viewing will be held on Monday, October 14th from 4:00 P.M. to 7:0PM, at McHoul Funeral Home, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Buddhist funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 15th at 9:00 A.M., at McHoul Funeral Home followed by cremation. Donations may be sent to the American Heart Association.

I’m so deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Tuan. He will be deeply missed and my visits to Rite Aid will never be the same. He was a funny wise guy who always made me laugh with the back and forth bantering we shared. On a serious note, Tuan ALWAYS did
his job with the utmost professionalism and as quickly as possible. It’s amazing how I will miss him there! Gone too soon...🙏🏻

I am deeply saddened by the news of Tuan's death. He was so very kind to my elderly parents, who were regular customers at Rite-Aide. As my parents got older and were no longer able to drive and care for themselves, I would bring them to the store on weekends to run errands. We had many nice conversations with Tuan, who treated mom and dad with patience and respect. He also answered my many questions about their prescriptions, and never made me feel like I was bothering him or asking a silly question. I am so grateful for his understanding and for his gentle goodness, especially towards my parents; many were the days that were made happier for them because of these visits to the store. My sincere condolences to Tuan's family. Joanne McKeown
