The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Richard Kent Falasco can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Shocked

Rich was the first person I became friends with when i moved to florida.  I was sitting in my car on the first day of film and video school.  He was in his truck. I got out and started walking towards the building when I hear "Hey! hey!". I see this shaved head guy who looked like trouble.  Then he asked if I was doing the film and video class.  Since we still had time to wait he invited me in his truck where he had a ps2 hooked up to a small screen on his dash.  He had Fast and the Furious playing.  We talked and instead of some thuggish guy he turned out to be a goofball.  We got a long great and he wanted to make movies and commericals pretty badly.

We hung out quite often and I got to see some pricier homes because of him and who he knew.  When I told him I had to move back to Michigan because I didn't have money and job prospects were bad he was gutted.  I think he thought of me as a best friend.  He tried looking for solutions without me knowing.  He knew someone who was renting an apartment in his garage.  First million dollar house I was ever in.  Anyway the thing was I needed work but, god bless him, he kept trying.  We both did a tour of the ups sorting place and he got the job but i didn't.

After I moved we lost contact as there wasn't social media back then and he didn't have a computer (I lent him mine until I had to pawn it).  For all his flaws Rich had a huge heart and when his first kid was on the way he really buckled down.  I'm both glad and sad that I thought about him today.
